SAM to unlock - doesn;t work

I installed Samprefs on my 4S but I have tried selecting the right carriers and spoofing correctly but it won;t activate on iTunes.
Is there anyway to do this now?

SAM unlocks only work if you took advantage of the backdoor that was closed up quite a while back. Without saved SAM tickets, you can't SAM unlock.

so, on a 6.1.2 it's not possible, you can only go through the standard unlock and pay for it?
even if I downgrade then upgrade?

Unless you've saved your SAM ticket and still have the SIM that's used with the backdoor, you can't use SAM to unlock on any iOS. If you meet both requirements you can use it on any jailbroken iOS device

Will downgrading to iOS 5, then saving the ticket, then upgrading to 6.1.2 work?

You're not listening to me. You could only save tickets before the backdoor was closed. It doesn't matter what iOS you downgrade to, it doesn't matter what iOS you upgrade to, it doesn't matter what baseband you're on.

1. You cannot save SAM tickets anymore.
2. You cannot downgrade your iPhone 4S's iOS regardless.
3. You cannot use any workarounds for either even if they did work since neither features exist
