I hate to start out with "Apple Sucks" but....... is there a "simple" way to transfer Music and Pictures back and forth between a iPhone 16 and a Windows computer? You know.... like drag and drop or copy and paste? Seems like the hang-up is Apple.....

I have used iMazing for a few years now on both my Windows laptop and Macbook. It’s a subscription not free, but also not too expensive and I’ve yet to find a better program to coordinate anything between iPhone/iPad and laptop. Great for performing backups on your idevices as well.
Many thanks Aerofly. That is one I looked at. Like so many they went subscription with no voice support. So they basically increased their pricing 5 fold and dropped support. That is win/win for them and lose/lose for me :) Will keep looking.

For what it is worth I found Wondershare MobileTrans. It uses a USB cable but will let you transfer files back and forth easily.

I used to just plug the iphoje into my laptop, right click and it transfered from the iphone to my laptop. I think I had Windows Device Manager or Apple Device Manager installed. Don’t remember the name, too long ago so I looked at Apple’s website and the instructions seem easy to me:

Import to your Windows PC

  1. Install the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC with a USB cable.
  3. If asked, unlock your iPhone or iPad using your passcode.
  4. If you see a prompt on your iPhone or iPad device asking you to Trust This Computer, tap Trust or Allow to continue.
  5. Visit Microsoft's website to learn how to import photos to the Microsoft Photos app in Windows.
If you have iCloud Photos turned on, you must download the original, full resolution versions of your photos to your iPhone or iPad before you import to your PC.

To ensure that photos from your iPhone or iPad have the best compatibility with Windows:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Camera, then tap Formats.
  3. Tap Most Compatible. From now on, your camera will capture photos and videos in JPEG and H.264 formats.
