Pros and cons of jailbreaking?

thanks for all the advice, i really appreciate it! BUT what do I use, or what would you recommend using to JB?? What have you used and had good luck with?

if you are on mac, use pwnage tool 4.2
If you are on windows, use snowbreeze 2.7.1
I've never use any of those tools to jailbreak my phone because my phone is not cdma but gsm and so i always use redsnow. You are having a cdma phone so, u can only one anyone of those 2 tools depending on what computer u have.
