help : unlocking / jailbreak

Hey guys, just wanted to ask. i got my phone from US right and I'm currently in asia- pacific, so how can you use the local network in asia, because i cannot use them, i can only use wifi connection. Do i need to jailbreak or something? Thx

ummm i think you may need to jailbreak and unlock?, im not to sure maybe someone who knows a for sure answer can put in their input

You will need to jailbreak first so you can then unlock it. There are plenty of guides out there, including here

Unfortunately if you have updated to 4.1 (Check this by going to settings, general, about) your baseband (or modem firmware) will be unable to be unlocked at this time.

that sucks.. but you have to jailbreak using greenpoison or limera1n or even pwnage tool if you have a mac then unlock using ultrasn0w...
