Uploading ramdisc

Everytime I try to jailbreak my iPhone, I get stuck on the uploading ramdisc stage. It gets to about 4 bars and stops. I have read that this is possibly because I'm not getting it into dfu mode properly. I know before it goes into the dfu step, it says to have the phone off, but is it ok to have it in dfu mode before I click next?
iPhone 3GS 4.3.2 with the snowy program or whatever.

Nevermind, I tried that as well, but I still get stuck on that step. Any ideas?

Had same problem, try running in admin mode or in Windows XP compatability mode, that worked for me.

It may be a seperate problem, but on one of my Windows machines redsn0w crashes completely at that stage (leaving the ramdisk icon on the iPhone). It must be something on the computer doing it because it works fine on a clean install of XP on a laptop I have.

I know that doesn't help much but try a different machine if you can.
