Hi all. I'm hoping someone here can help me with my problem on my sons 3GS.

Firstly it got stuck in a reboot loop then when eventually it showed the 'connect to iTunes' symbol.

We have tried to restore but it gets stuck on 'waiting for iPhone'. (iTunes)
This is both in restore mode and DFU mode.

I've tried restoring a firmware using some jailbreak tools and these get so far until it tries to install the firmware and the iPhone shows the progress bar which doesnt move and the software shows 'waiting for NAND'.

Can anybody offer any advice on which steps to take now?

Thanks for your help.

Generally NAND errors requires that you disconnect the battery from the logic board to basically reset your NAND, or your hard disk in common terms. I'm not aware of any other methods for a solution

Thanks for the advice but I've already had the phone in bits to replace the stand-by button and I have let the phone run flat a few times too.

I'm going to take it to a shop for a last ditch attempt!
