iPhone 5 Shipment

Mine says -
Dispatched: 2 weeks Delivers 01 Oct, 2012

Surely if it has dispatched it won't take two weeks to get to me? I'm in the UK not some deep dark reaches of the Amazon rainforest.

Depends on 1. Who you pre ordered with and 2. when you pre ordered. If you didn't order within the first few hours that pre order became available, specially if you did it with Apple then 10/1/12 sounds about right to me.

Mine is stuck in New Jersey says on time but seems to have sat there for over a day. I dunno maybe FedEx does it a little different than UPS? Seems like an awfully far away place to deliver from its 6 hours away lol

Join the club. Newark, New Jersey anyone?

Summary: Ordered through Verizon over the phone around 7:30am CST & received est. delivery of 9/21!! Credit card declined charge yesterday! Mild heart attack.. Called CC company to fix! Had to call Verizon to re-charge card!! Order went through and found tracking number this morning!! FedEx says delivery today (9/20) by 3pm!! It was in PA around midnight and it has to make it to Texas by 3pm today.. hmmm!! We'll see but it's on the way!!! Black 32gb

Advice: if your credit card wasn't charged yet, call them so they don't decline the charge thinking it was fraud!! More comfort knowing my cc is protected from fraud as well!!

Unless you posted previously this is the second post that said delivery today. Now I'm not going to say you are lying, or mistaken, I will accept your word on this but I can guarantee that you will not be able to activate that phone until tomorrow. If I'm wrong, let me know I don't mind being corrected.

As far as the credit card, Verizon, just like most companies doesn't charge the card until it sends the shipping documents, which in my case happened on 9/18 and charge showed pending then charge showed completed today. Most everyone should see their card charged by now IF thy have a 9/21 delivery date.

Good luck, If you get a head start I won't be jealous. I just kind of doubt that it will work that way.

Edit: I see this is your first post so you are indeed the second person I've seen report this.

I'm sorry again when it comes to something that is likely an automated process. You were in the wrong. Unless you really think someone was standing there looking at the orders come in "oh this is Jim's order! He was first lets box his up!" Lol

Interestingly enough that IS precisely the case. After going higher up the ladder, it was discovered that "Jim" indeed NEVER put the order in. What he was doing was writing them down to input later.

UPDATE: I've got a tracking number. It's currently in TN with a delivery date of tomorrow (21st) by 4:30!!!

I was surprised to see the delivery date this morning!! I'll be checking the progress throughout the day and post if anything significant happens. I won't be disappointed if it changes to tomorrow though!!

You mean to tell me, they actually had a guy sitting there watching pre orders come in and writing them down by hand and then manually processing them? I'm sorry, I think they fed you a load of BS just to make you feel like they did something when in reality they probably just waited until your order went through the system. Or AT&T is even worse than I thought relying on "Jim" and his notepad lol.

I don't mean to pick a fight here, but I'm just trying to understand the feelings behind doing this. I actually called Verizon as it would be for me and asked them nicely if everything was ok with my order because some of the info was a little confusing. She explained to me everything was fine and I would probably be charged and receive shipping info within a couple days. Well I ended up being charged that night or the next morning I think and received the shipping info shortly after. So if I had waited to call, I wouldn't have had to.

I wasn't fuming though I didnt call up and say "I ordered my phone first jackasses! What kind of mickey mouse operation you running I demand my phone be shipped now!"
I would have told you, "Sir, your order is in the system, you'll get your phone when you get it." So i don't agree with them lying to you about some guy writing it down and forgetting about it.

The nice thing at my job, is if people get to be too beligerant we can always call security and have them escorted out :). I usually just deal with them though, but others like to just throwem out lol.

I pre-ordered 2 Iphone 5's on the apple store at about 9am the 14th and have a ship date of 10/5 to Dallas. Order still says in processing items. What about trying to stand in line tomorrow and if able to get the phones then cancelling the pre-order right there and then? Would the 2 upgrades I used with ATT then be available to purchase those phones in store?

YES!!! My Shipping/Tracking Info just came from Sprint. Me and My Wife's Phones are in Kentucky, and are scheduled to arrive by Tomorrow (21st). We live in Maryland about 10-15 minutes outside of Washington DC, can't wait to try out this LTE

I feel a little cold coming on....I probably won't be able to make it in to the office tomorrow LOL

Lol I already planned on asking my boss today if I could show up a little late if I have to. It says delivery by 3pm and that's when I start work. I doubt it will show up that late though but just in case.

I preordered with Best buy and received my pickup email for the 21st this morning.

I do this EVERYTIME a iPhone comes out, and within moments of hanging up the phone I get an email confirmation with the details of the order. I should have "known" something was incorrect when he asked for my email address because it has NEVER changed. He also went into details about how busy they were especially with the system constantly crashing. Another red flag should have been when I asked for the order number and he replied it will be emailed to you. However I always get names of the people that I'm speaking with and when I did NOT receive ANYTHING and decided to call back to the same dept., the rep said she knew "Jim" he works right across from her. I thought that was interesting too. She was going to tell him that he entered my email address incorrectly. Anyway, after additional calls and asking to be escalated it was discovered that ol' Jim Bo, had DONE NOTHING!! There was NO changes made to the account at all. Thank goodness I was persistent otherwise I wouldn't have a delivery date of tomorrow. I was later informed that they have a lot of newbies working. Whatever the case may be, had this been my first order I never would have had anything to compare it with so I would've had no need to place several follow up calls. But I will say this, even though they are horrible, they are still not as bad as the local Sprint. I went in with a friend and the ENTIRE time the rep was helping her, she was on a personal call (Bluetooth) discussing the upcoming party that night!! It took EVERYTHING in me to "hold my peace" after all, I was just there with someone and not the customer. It goes without saying "that dog wouldn't hunt with me" she would have gotten OFF the call and given me (the customer, the reason for her paycheck) her undivided attention.

Well i'm shocked but if thats really the case then I can understand your anger. I never hear good things about AT&T so it shouldn't surpriseme. And Sprint just seems like they don't know what the hell they are doing. I've always been satisfied with Verizon despite people who complain about them, i've never experienced anything but quick and effective service. They even worked with me when I was out of work and couldn't pay my bill. I think I was 3 months past due and they finally shut off my service but when I called they were able to turn it back on and arrange for me to make smaller payments. I was shocked.
