Hi new member here


Can some explain the difference between unlocking and jailbreaking in simple terms.

Whats the easiest way to simply unlock

Jailbreaking is something you do in order to install apps that apple do not approve of and it installs an app called "Cydia" this is basically the app store but for jailbreakers and it contains only apps that apple do not want in the app store for what ever reason and there is a lot of good apps and tweaks in there so you can really customise your device..

UNLOCK is if you buy a iphone locked to ATT or any other network world wide such as o2 or vodafone or t-mobile or what ever carrier that sells the iphone locked. When you unlock the phone this enables you to put ANY supported micro sim, but when you upgrade firmware the phone re-locks and at the moment only baseband 01.59 can be unlocked AND you cannot unlock with out jailbreaking because the app to unlock is downloaded from the jailbreak "Cydia"

Jailbreaking simply adds Cydia to your iPhone. Unlocking simply allows your iPhone to be connected to other GSM networks like T-Mobile.

3G or 3GS? Greenpois0n supports the 3GS as well
