what firmware is the 3G on? you would use redsn0w though. but make sure you get the latest version and check your firmware on iClarified - Apple News and Tutorials

I prob appear a complete idiot. I have tried to jailbreak my 3GS. Its version 4.3.4(8K2)
firmware 05.16.02

It seems that my firmware is too high, is that correct ?

This is so confusing, can I jailbreak on this version and firmware or do I need to change( upgrade or down grade ?)

If so is there a simple way to do all this for a computer "ungeek "

You can do a tethered jailbreak on 4.3.4/4.3.5 with redsn0w
