i have intelliscreen x and it gives me the option to turn my data off completly... if i do that can i still get txt msg. and calls ?

Yes. With cell data and wifi off you will still get text messages and phone calls. Just not the extras like MMS, email, Facebook etc.

Yes you will still receive text messages and calls. It turns off 3G which is useful for saving battery, I always toggle it off when not in use
