tethering

Ok, maybe you are paying for that option. I dont have it with Sprint in the USA. But I know I can make it a wireless hot spot if I pay a monthly fee, or someone could figure out a jailbreak option.

My monthly plan includes it at no extra cost.

Okay guys - thanks a lot! I now understand it. So, with my 2 gig limit I have to play it cool and not get carried away too much. But I do appreciate the explanation of "hotspot".. :)

It means
1) You have hijacked a thread.
2) If you have to ask you shouldn't be doing what you are doing.
3) It is a process stack dump for code compiled specifically for an iPhone 5 and tested on an iPhone 5 or an iPhone 5 emulator.

Hi Guys,
Looks like I'm not the only one who didn't quite understand this "tether" deal. The idea behind my original question was not to try to beat my data limit, but simply to use my old non wifi desktop PC to access the internet thru my iphone5 via tethering. I understand that I can use my laptop which does have wifi to access the internet via the iphone5 (just like I would use a Starbuck's hot spot), but I use my old desktop PC only for financial stuff and don't do other online stuff on it in order to keep my financial info safer. If someone hacks my laptop while I'm surfing, they won't find anything useful on it. Thus, I have never needed to upgrade my limited use desktop PC, so if I can tether the iphone "hot spot" feature to it via USB cable, I will no longer need my home internet service and I can use that money to help pay for my iphone5 data contract and use it for all my internet access (iphone, desktop PC & laptop). From what I've learned from Skull One, it should work out just fine.
Cheers, Tally

P.S. I'm now aware that there is a "technical question" forum. I think I should have started this thread there. I'll try to be more careful in the future.

Has anyone used TETHER.com's app to tether their IPhone 5 to their computer? If so does it work?
