New Member and taking notes while listening to voicemail

HI,
I am a new member and appreciate having this forum. I have had my iphone for a few months and still consider myself a newbie.
I have ran into a specific need that i cannot seem to find and answer for and want to see if anyone else has the same problem.

When I am checking my voicemail, i want to be able to type/write notes (within the iphone, with no pen) while listening to my voicemail. When i switch to 'Notes' the voicemail quits.

I searched the site and could not find anything relating to this.

Any help?

Yep, the voice will quit or will stay in spayed state when you switch to another application. The reason why is that the voice has no "working in the background" support. You will be able to do what you want if you can install "backgrounder" on your iPhone.
