I jailbroke my iPhone the other day and now i wish to restore it. When i plug into itunes and click restore i get an error saying "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "My iPhone". The network connection could not be established". I would like to restore it back to my stock iPhone. Could someone please give em a step by step so i dont ruin my phone? Please and thank you!

You need a network connection on your computer so that iTunes can download the IPSW file and verify it with the Apple servers.
Yes this the error that mine is getting. I do have an internet connection and I tried it on 2 machines. I still get the same results.
Select the appropriate IPSW from here [Moderator edit: Removed external iOS software links. We have our own links (see below). Thanks.] and then shift-click restore in iTunes to select this IPSW.
