Iphone 4 AT&T Unlock

So i've already unlocked my Iphone 4 via AT&T unlock on 5.0.1 on baseband 4.11.08. Now i'm trying to update my version to 5.1.1. Can i just update directly through itunes (without preserving baseband). I know that the AT&T unlock is a factory unlock, but i'm afraid that if i update my version and baseband, my unlock will be gone?

If you are certain that AT&T unlock it and that it's a factory unlocked, then there is nothing to fear about. Go ahead and upgrade the iOS and you should be set just fine. Factory unlocked means nothing can lock it.
