Unlock iphone 3GS - AT&T

Hi Experts

I have iPhone 3GS with iPad baseband 06.15.00. The phone was upgraded to the above baseband to unlock it using ultrasn0w on iOS 4.x. The phone is unlocked but I would like to upgrade to iOS 5.1

Recently found that AT&T will unlock old iPhone if you finished your contract.

If I am to upgrade to iOS 5.1 will it upgrade the baseband and will it work.

Please advise?

Unfortunately Mary123 is right, once you've upgraded to the iPad baseband you are stuck there. You will have to continue using the software unlock.

Just wanted to check if there are any tools available now that will allow me to upgrade to iOS 6.x and let me upgrade to latest iPhone baseband.

I really want to upgrade to iOS 6.x and as I can get my iPhone unlocked from AT&T.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can upgrade to iOS6 and use Redsn0w to install the iPad baseband/downgrade to the 05.13.04 baseband

If you already have the 06.15.00 baseband installed, then yes.

That isn't necessarily true. Just because you own a 2 year old iPhone doesn't mean they'll unlock it. There are stipulations that you must meet before AT&T will unlock.

Yes, the first and most important being that you must be the original owner.
