Unlock iPhone 3GS

Hi,

I am trying upgrade my iphone 3GS iOS 5.0.1 (05.16.05) to iPad baseband so i can unlock the phone using redsn0w using below link

How To Unlock iPhone 3Gs 5.0.1 for Tmobile – 5.16.05 to 6.15.00 Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 | EverythingApplePro

The redsn0w crashes at "Fetching iPad Baseband Files (please be patient) ...". Is there a way to resolve the error?

Any help will be highly appreciated !

redsn0w crashing is usually solved by ensuring you are running redsn0w as "Administrator" and if using windows7 or Vista, make sure you have set redsn0w to run in compatibiilty mode for "Windows XP SP2" (or SP3).
Also, temporarily disable any anti-virus / firewall you have if you still have problems.

I did try to above but no luck.

Then i tried to Jailbreak first and followed by iPad baseband.

The Jailbreak was successfully done but unable to put iPad baseband.

All when ok with redsn0w but got error on iPhone 3GS as below



Any help will be appreciated !!

I have specified the file name "iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw" on redsn0w (redsn0w_win_0.9.10b5). Extras > Select IPSW. As mentioned this time, I am only installing iPad Baseband.

Please advise?

If you're already jailbroken, then yes, you only want to install the iPad baseband, do not reinstall Cydia or you will corrupt the jailbreak.

Don't know, try using an earlier version of redsn0w with a 4.2.1 firmware file.

Yes. 0.9.10b5 supports 5.0+

Google redsnow for 4.2.1
