What's new

Cannot use voice and data simultaneously on Verizon....

The other phones that were able to use data and phone at the same time were able to do so because they were using 4g. Regular data was and still is not possible on ANY phone on Sprint or Verizon. It's a CDMA thing, not the phone. This has simply been how the system has worked since CDMA was invented.

To say any one provider is better over Sprint/Verizon based on this is just marketing, and misleading. Sprint and Verizon don't "disable" this "feature" to punish customers. It's a technological barrier.

This is incorrect. The Galaxy S3, the HTC Rezound, and a few other recent Verizon phones using qualcomm modems (which the iPhone 5 has) CAN do Voice and Data simultaneously on 3G. Verizon's network has been SVDO and eHRPD capable for a while now so please do your research before stating things like this.

Here's a source for the Rezound from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Rezound

"The HTC Rezound is the second Verizon Wireless phone available that allows simultaneous surf and talk on the Verizon Wireless 3G network. This capability is due to the duplication of some functions between theQualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8660 SoC (System on Chip) and the Qualcomm MSM9600 modem chip."

Here's a source for the Galaxy S3 from droid-life:
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/07/16/verizons-galaxy-s3-does-simultaneous-voice-and-data-over-3g/

"... I placed a call over 3G and was able to jump right onto the Droid Life site without a hiccup. Since the phone uses a Qualcomm chipset, which we would assume includes one of their modems, this shouldn’t come as a complete surprise."
