Verizon iPhone 4 No Service

My Verizon iPhone 4 is giving me fits. Some time last week my phone started to go into "searching" mode and lose service altogether. I've tried the following fixes which only seem to last temporarily:

1. Power phone off and then back on;

2. 228 option on the phone;

3. Making sure to close muti-tasking; and

4. Airplane mode off and on.

This is very frustrating. I've talked to friends who also have Verizon iPhones and they have experienced the same.

I think that the issue is network unstead of the iPhone it self. How does it behave when you are in full coverage area? Same searching stuff? If yes then one way to go; apple store or verizon service room.

could be area of poor signal
