Hi

I have a iphone 4 that I wish to resurrect from the Tech drawer. I only wish to connect to my wifi and used exclusively for "Facetime".....

Is this possible ? I also have a Macbook Air and I am having problems with iphone 4 connectivity of icloud .

Please advise
Ron

Yes, it's possible. I used my old iPhone 4 on wifi in this way. It needs to have a SIM in the tray, but doesn't need connection to a telephone provider.

Can you describe the problems you are having?

You can use your old iPhone 4 like that. I have one myself that I can use FaceTime on. You'll need a SIM card in the holder in order to activate the iPhone but the card does not have to have an active carrier plan. I use an inactivated SIM card in mine.
A lot of apps, including the latest version of FaceTime will not work on iOS 7.1.2 but you'll be given the opportunity of downloading the latest compatible version when you attempt to download it if you previously downloaded it under iOS 7.
