Lifeproof case

I don't think they'd make cases for the 3g/3gs models since it's moving into the future now, if you get what I mean. And I really can't wait to get my case. Too many orders have been made, it seems :( :p

1 little bit of advice do not dunk it in water in front of a 3 yr old otherwise you'll find all your electronics in the tub.

I couldn't go to the pool today too much lightning.
But heres another video of it taking a bath with my sons toys.

How's the voice quality while on a phone call? Does it sound quite a bit quieter?

I have no problems with the sound quality and I've had no complaints from the person on the other end.

Will be getting my Lifeproof case from a seller who managed to make it through the early pre-orders hopefully tomorrow afternoon. So excited! :) I'd still push through with my purchase despite the issues a member from another forum encountered.

I am excited to hear what you think about it!!!!

I too was so excited about getting mine. Idid all the tests, put the case on my as instructed, and got ready to check it out, and oh, no! The scratch cover over the face is horrible. I went to Lifeproofs site and it does seem to be a problem the case is having. What happens is it traps air inside the case, just as it is expected to keep waterand dust etc, out! The result is a slight pillow of air inbetween the phones glass screen, and the scratch cover on the case. This pillow of air can be pushed away from the face of the phone byholding the phone face down on your leg or something similar, and it pushes away the air making the air pillow go away which helps. Problem is, it comes back in a minute or two. Damn! At their web site answers to questions, it states that it will go away in a week.......we'll see! If this is the case, and the air goes away, I will be one happy customer! I'll keep all posted. Anybody else having same prob?

^I think I read about that earlier here, too! Is that the issue where in you can't properly hear someone if you're in a voice call with them? Plus I heard the screen cover of the Lifeproof scratches easily that's why a user from another forum said you could opt to put another screen protector over it

Ordered one this morning, just waiting for it to ship! Looking to get the bike mount and belt clip too when they become available!

I have been using my Lifeproof iPhone case for about three weeks now and I can say that I am really disappointed. here is why
1. The screen protecter is highly reflective and it is so thick that it creates an unusable haze in the sun (crystal clear inside when held at the right angle to the light). I cannot use it outside and inside you have to hold it just perfectly to avoid the reflection of indoor lights. Outside it looks as if something created a hazy film on the inside so tonight I went to clean it inside just to see (it was not hazy or dirty on the screen inside) and.....
2. The camera lens fell out while I was cleaning the case (I was cleaning it exactly as the instructions and the video instruct). I have installed the lens back into the case and the case back on the iPhone, but it doesn't look waterproof to me anymore. I will be contacting the company tomorrow.
3. The screen protector is heavily scratched after only three weeks use! I can only imagine what it may look like after several months.....unusable.
4. The screen protector is elevated off the the iPhone screen (which is a good design) however it does come in contact with the screen at random places and it creates a bubble look to the screen.
5. The echo while using the phone is so bad that I have to turn it down to the point where I cannot hear the caller talking but if I have it loud enough to hear the caller than the echo is so bad for the caller they cannot concentrate. I have seen this problem with the Otterbox but not nearly this bad!
6. You MUST use only the Original Apple iPhone 4 cord with it or buy the "Dock Extender" because the hole the cord fits into is so small it will not fit most (none of mine) aftermarket or POST iPhone 4 cords. (none that I have)
now for the good....
1. It is waterproof when new. I tested it.
2. I believe it to be rugged enough to take a hit from a fall. It is very protective on the corners and the screen protector is heavy duty.
3. It is lighter than the Otterbox I had.

Contacted Lifeproof on August 11 about the Lens falling out, the echo, etc.... and I received this Auto Reply
"Thank you for emailing LifeSupport. Your email has been received by a LifeSupport Member and has been escalated to one of our LifeSupport Specialists for further review. When our LifeSupport Specialist is done reviewing your email they will contact you to help you resolve your issue effectively."
I have emailed them again since and have not heard back from them yet. This is August 17th. This is customer service?

UPDATE: On August 24th I emailed all three email addresses I could find on the LifeProof website and within hours I received this rely: " We can certainly resolve this for you. An RMA will be issued and we will send you a new case. Please note a prepaid label will be e-mailed to you. When you receive your replacement send the old case back to be inspected Attn: XXXXX XXXX. Thank you for your patience with this matter and allowing us to keep you LifeProof'd.
Kind Regards,
XXXXX X.
LifeSupport Team"
So it sounds promising I will let you know what happens.
Whomever first posted something about it being too bulky, I would say NOT AT ALL! The case seems to be very protective but not nearly as bulky or heavy as some I have had. I am looking forward to receiving a different one because as I said before overall the case seems to be a good protective one and I hope my issues are resolved.

UPDATE: I tried many times to reach them by phone and never got through however they did try to call me on a friday night late. ( I give them a lot of credit in the customer service dept, they were working late so I called back several times and it was busy late into the night)
It took a while however I received my replacement and have been using it for 2 weeks now. So far I do not see much difference, the screen cover is very glossy during the day almost impossible to see anything but text and it is already scratched a lot more than you would expect however, the lens on this one has not come out. I have not experienced echo but the volume from the ear speaker seems to be reduced a lot! I am surprised because that is one thing I was impressed with before. There is no rainbow bubble effect with this one. I like the ultra durability and waterproof capabilities of this case but not for everyday use, even on the job or during sports (there are better options for everyday use in my opinion) . This case will go into my travel accessories box until my next trip when I will use it with confidence in the rainforest jungles, the beaches and the mountains.
