i am sure thats what they said about turbo sims with older models of the iphone as well but its never 100% that will will work perfectly with every new firmware update.. and illegal because of the 112

I had a turbo sim. It was great for the first few days. You put it in with an sim you liked and that was it. Unfortunately it only worked for a few days before the NO SERVICE (more often than not) kept randomly appearing in the top left corner.

With the gevey sim (from my understanding) you need to set it up by calling 112. This as unleashed rightly said is illegal anywhere where that number is used as an emergency number...

Unlike its ancestors, the i4 SIM interposer is not a drop-in-and-forget device. The exact precedure must be performed should the device restart, lose reception for an extended period of time or move to another PLMN

It is, without question, unethical or downright illegal to use the technique anywhere 112 is a legitmate emergency number.

SIM interposer should not harm your phone hardware, however your network could request IMEI and identify your device during the emergency call. Your identity cannot be faked and it is possible that they will ban your account. There is a reason why SIM cards remain legally the property of the service provider: you are not supposed to tamper with them without breaching contract.

I don't agree with many things that been said above, but what do I know.

Had mine for a couple of weeks. Works pretty good. Beware of the fake ones, though.

So have you received the product? Have you already update your software?

What don't your agree with? I didin't mean to shoot down your idea of using a turbo sim. It's a good idea but I wouldnt get another one, even if it was like the old one. I was just explaining the cons of using the new one. Perhaps my review is abit biased given my bad experience with the previous turbo sim...

AFAIK this gevey sem is just a working solution for impatient souls like me. It can surely not replace software unlock with baseband preservation or even better permanent factory unlock. Some of the main disadvantages I felt for gevey sim unlock:

1. It becomes I a big headache if your job involves lot of travel. Everytime u get out of the flight u need to follow the same procedure suggested by apple'n'berry to unlock

2. If the tiny processor in the gevey SIM goes kaput or if u drop the phone accidentally gevey sim will lose contact with your carrier SIM and you will lose your unlock. You need to again follow the painful procedure to unlock. If the processor goes kaput your gevey sum becomes unusable. This generally happens when try to insert the sim tray with carrier sim and gevey aim inside it with your phone in ON mode. So please avoid doing so and insert the SIM tray into your iPhone only after switching off the phone

Though I am yet to experience the above issue but just thought I will share

I don't understand why do i need to unlock it every time I travel?

It's simple when I board the flight I will obviously switch off my mobile and when I switch on the phone will be in locked status which means I need to repeat dialing 112 and turn on and off AP mode. Unless otherwise if u dont switch off the mobile while boarding the flight and just switch on AP mode. But then I am not sure whether switching on just AP mode will lock your phone again since I never tried that myself.
