Jailbroken phone want to update my software, but have questions!

When I purchased my iphone 4 from verizon it was running 4.2.6 software. I jailbroke the phone using green poison. I am still running 4.2.6.

From what I have heard they are now running 4.2.10. I guess I have a couple questions:

1. Is there a need for me to update to the newer software? I always get asked when I connect to itunes.
2. If so what do I need to do to update it since I am jailbroken? If I go and update my phone through itunes, will that mess up the phone anyway? I guess what I am saying is do I have to first unjailbreak my phone than update and rejailbreak it?

If you want to keep your jailbreak stay away from 4.2.10 unless you want to do a tethered jailbreak. So basically

1. There is no need to update.
2. Dont worry about it if you want to keep your jailbreak.

Dump your 4.2.6 SHSH with iFaith ASAP and like iCrank said, DO NOT update.
