Jailbreaking, and Updating

hello, simple thing that i want to ask.
If i Jailbreak my iPhone then can i update it with a newer iOS Software?

im afraid that apple wont allow me to update their software once i jailbreak. need help. thanks

Of course you can, but if you update you have to jailbreak again.

you can update, apple want you to upgrade because it means you lose your jailbreak and they make it harder for the devs to make a new jb for that fw, so apple wants you to update as well as many bug fixes and some times really good features
