Mind you I'm not too switched on when it comes to the insides of iphones but a bloke in a local repair said what I thought was odd -

He said the 'RED' iphone 7s' have been discontinued and..."don't buy one because it's hardware is outdated compared to the other colors that continued to be manufactured"

Not so- YES?

Same hardware as any iPhone 7S regardless of color.

If he was comparing it to the XR then yes it is an older iPhone with older technology, but certainly not outdated.
