iPhone 5 Said to be Launching October 1 in Canada

Boy Genius Report says today that it has seen information via a reliable source at Canadian iPhone carrier Telus that the iPhone 5 will be released in Canada on October 1. This ties in with other rumours this week stating that the iPhone 5 would not be released until October. BGR says that the information comes from an internal Telus document that gives October 1 as the iPhone 5 launch date. This does not, of course, mean that the iPhone 5 will also be launched on October 1 in the US as well as Canada, as there is no indication whether or not Apple will be releasing the phone in the US before, after, or simultaneously with, Canada. And although BGR says that it believes the document to be genuine, October 1 seems a somewhat unlikely date for an iPhone launch, being that it’s a Saturday, and Apple usually prefers to launch its iPhones on Thursdays or Fridays. Still, you never know, Apple does enjoy springing the odd surprise or two!
