iPhone 4 taking too long to reset

I recently got a iPhone 4 as a hand-me-down and since there was stuff on it, i erased all content and setting. Once i did that the screen went blank and a spinning circle appeared. However, this screen has been there for over 13 hours now. Help?

Almost never Erase All Contents and Settings using Settings.app. Always use a DFU restore on iTunes.

I never get that **** working for me! Always stuck my device into the loading screen. I always forced to hard reset the phone from getting out that loading screen. I guess you got a jailbroken phone.
