iPhone 3 apps scalability

Hi there,

I notice one of the improvements to iPhone 4 over 3 is the screen resolution.

Do all the original apps automatically scale to fit? Or is the a blank border around some?

when you say iphone 3 do you mean 3g or 3gs?

Either or any other version. Just wanted to find out if the version of iphone especially the screen resolution made any difference to the apps.
