My battery life is getting fisted hardcore.

Any fixes?

Been on iOS 5 solid for over 2 months. No real difference in battery life compared to iOS 4.2.X (CDMA). I get my standard of 10 hours of on screen time with about 30 hours of standby with no issues.

Same here if any thing better. I suggest you check to see what you have running in back ground also check brightness etc.

I just updated last night. Battery seems to be daring a bit more than it was. I'll have to give it a few days before anything close to a final determination tho.

My standby time has dropped from well over 1 day to about 1:45 to complete battery discharge. From a full charge, with location off, wifi off, bluetooth off, notifications off, and push off, with brightness well below 1/2, it takes less than 2 hours of non-use to fully deplete the battery. My iPad2 has a similar, but not as severe, drain.

Oh, and all applications killed that were running in background, and rebooted while still on full charge - still depletes in less than 2 hours with NO use for anything.

my battery seems the same if not better. IPhone 4

(I'm on the iPad forum and long time member on another iPhone forum but this looks like a nicer layout)
Wow. I WISH I could say the same. Mine is lousy with my iP4. By 5 PM without even having touched it, I'm at 77%. My job is swamped, but on the weekends when I'm out and about, I still use it sparely because if I need to call anyone, I'd rather be able to do that. I have plenty battery to make a couple calls without worry, but I'd like to do a hiking day trip in the next few weeks, and while I'm sure it will be okay, it's ridiculous that I don't all the way trust that to be the case. I might want to send some pictures and use the GPS and all, plus in case I need to call anyone too. I've now made sure to turn off notifications, so I'll see if that makes any difference but I'm annoyed because this is the iP4, and not the 4S with the newer processor. I read an article that the 4S is even worse. I've had every iPhone since launch day, and never have had battery issues, but I'm holding off on the 4S if I can't even get my 4 at a place I want it to be. I realize new bells & whistles are there, but Apple also advertises the 4S as great battery life and it sounds like many 4S users are also having issues. Any feedback? Is this just the way it's going to be?

addendum: turning off stock notification and one other seems to have done it. 97% at 5 pm today. Hopefully this stands, and I wish I could delete the stock app anyway!

My iP4 was doing great w/ battery life since my post above. Just this week, my 4S came in, and I definitely noticed a difference in battery life, but still fairly tolerable. Now I see the 5.0.1 update that is supposed to address the battery life issues, so cool, hope so!

Fortunately, I didn't have battery problem after upgrading my iPad to ios 5, but I did after upgrading to ios 4.3.x

The symptom was the same, loss 10% battery per hour when it's idle.

I solved it by restoring it to factory setting in iTune, then reinstalled apps that I need.
The battery life become normal after it.

I hope it will help.

Good luck!
