If the back of your iphone 4 gets cracked in the upper left hand corner...

Would you not be able to see clearly on the camera because all of the glass is cracked? Also, If you buy a rear protector for the iphone 4, does it have a camera cut out, Beacuse if It didn't it would seem like it would be blurry looking through the protector

The camera lense is independent of the glass back of the iPhone itself. As long as the lens is intact, your camera should be fine.

And I have not seen a decent case that didn't have the cutout for the camera.

i know it is independent and the camera would still work, But since there is glass covering the camera lense, If it cracked in that spot, When you turned on the camera you would be looking through cracked glass, Wouldn't you?

Yes. But your ability to see that crack would be determined by a few of factor. Position, width and lighting are the big three. The camera's ability to focus would also become questionable based on those factors.

Probably limited vision for sure, i like point and shoot cameras


By the way i have a Roots Case for iphone 4 (not 4s model) as i have a 4 model, i bought it at walmart for around 20.00 and it has a perfect cut out for the back camera. It also came with a screen protector ( i never used it as they are a pain to get the bubbles all out) never used one yet and my phones i have had all have no scratches on glass, just take care of it like a baby.
