Hello geeks!

I'm pretty new to this jailbreaking stuff (haven't jailbroken yet). I'm currently using iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, and my PC is on Windows 7. I'm planning to jailbreak it using the recently released Greenpois0n RC5. Before doing that, I would love to get a few simple questions answered.

1) How to create a backup and save the backup file into my computer so that I can, at any time, restore from that backup in order to remove the jailbreak, which I may need to do when taking the phone to Apple Genius Bar. I'm quite worried that iTunes may overwrite the pre-jailbreak backup with the post-jailbreak one.

2) My iPhone is on EDGE (3G is very expensive in my country). So I won't be able to download large apps through it. The only way for me to download apps is through the computer.

3) Is there any way to access Cydia using my computer?

Thanks. Your response would be very much helpful in breaking the Apple lock.

Depending on what equipment they already have it can cost a developer hundreds to thousands of dollars to just get what they need to become a developer. I requires hundreds of hours to learn and then hundreds of hours labor to develop and put an app on the market. A few will make a bunch of money, most, probably will barely make enough to pay for their equipment, much less, the labor they put into it.

So, if you spent the money to buy and iPad, but you can't afford to pay the small amount these fine developers charge, then you won't get any help from me or these forums on how to steal the product of these fine developers.

If developers can't make enough money, to at least pay for their outlay, then they will stop making apps. Then you will have a nice big picture frame you can set on the mantle, instead of a fun and exciting app filled iPad. No Apps = picture frame, maybe.

I'm so sorry for that. Didn't knew the rules.

@ Pocobear, I am still a student and don't have a credit card to buy apps from. I only got the iPhone as a gift from Dad, and I don't want to bother my dad into buying apps for me. However, I do appreciate your post, and I do have great respect for the Developers, but don't have the $$ to pay them through buying apps.

Save up and get yourself a gift card. No credit/debit card required. It's what I do...

Also, install bzrapp if you haven't. It's brilliant.

It gives you lists of apps that are currently on special and for free on the app store. Apps that normally cost.
