Would you buy a folding iPhone?

No, I would/will not buy a folding camera, I have cameras whether I like it or not ! I do not use them much as it is. Every damn Apple device I have has a camera !
I do not suffer from the weird desire to document every part of my existence with odd electronically mutated images, or suffer from the delusion that other people want to see them.
My “technology”rule is: determine your needs and get the best device you can afford. That goes for software also.
That may mean more than one device.

My other phone is a flip phone …

I've used quite a few foldable phones so I feel like I'm pretty used to the form factor and my favorite type of phone is like the one that I currently have which is the Samsung Fold 6. I've also used the flip style phones which can be very useful for many as it's pocketable. I'm still hoping for Samsung to increase the width while closed as other phone manufacturers are doing. As for durability I've never had an issue with any of the phones which I usually keep for a year before I trade in for the next one but it's always good to have that insurance coverage. I will definitely keep an eye on what Apple will do but I I feel like that's not coming anytime soon as all we have been hearing is rumors.
These look awesome, nice pics! When I got my iPhone, one of my first thoughts was, “I really need a Tablet.”
Used an inexpensive ATT one a few years back and had fun with it. It died after a couple of years but replacement cost was way too much. Keeping my eye and options open …

I tried the mini tablet a while back but I just didn't get enough use out of it. Now at least I can get a larger footprint when on the go or home. There are still too many apps that need to make it a better experience with using the screen size

I imagine the carriers are going to eat it up. Buy a $2K iPhone Fold OR sign a 3 year contract and we will give you one!
Not sure about that. I bought my iPhone 16 Pro last year, outright. My carrier would have financed me but basically it would have been me paying for the full cost over time and being locked into a contract.until the phone was paid off, so 3 yrs. I had a 0% CC offer from my bank so didn’t use the carrier. It has only been recently that they have been offering the 16 Pro for free with the contract. They probably do that to get contract sales and renewals during the slow period when people aren’t upgrading, waiting for the new models in the fall. The prices of the folding ones could be so high, they won’t absorb the costs. But I base my opinion on not thinking people are chomping at the bit to get a folding iPhone and I could be very wrong about that. I am not interested but then again, years ago I wondered why Apple was thinking about increasing the size of iPhones after the 5+. Never thought people would want a phone so big and here I am with a 16 Pro.🤷🏻‍♀️😉
