Hi,

I have myself in a weird situation, I have been reading about upgrading my iPhone 3G to 4.2 from 4.1 and there are many ways to do this. The ways I have seen offer people to upgrade there baseband to 06.15 and its irreversible but I already have this baseband and a jailbroken 4.1, To upgrade am i right in thinking I just update via iTunes to 4.2? The baseband will stay as 06.15 and I can jailbreak and unlock after iTunes update? I read that because I have this baseband I need to use some tool to upgrade now. I'm an absolute noob when it comes to jailbreaking. Any help is welcome and appreciated, thanks in Advance...

I put 4.1 to 4.1 in Title - Douche.

You will never be able to update normally through iTunes again because of your iPad baseband. If you try and update normally, iTunes will detect the baseband and cause a 'baseband panic' and the restore will error out. Your only option to upgrade is to create a custom 4.2.1 firmware file using Sn0wbreeze or Pwnage Tool.

And you are correct, your baseband 06.15.00 will never be upgraded.
