Get iPhone 4 working while traveling overseas vacation.

Hi All,

I'm planning for a month trip to India. Currently having ATT contract iPhone4 and its working great. Wanted to use same iPhone4 during my visit to india. I believe, i need to get iphone 4 unlocked and get sim in india to use it there. After a month, when i come back i would like to get everything to old state where it was, as if nothing has happened. Just to keep things clean. How do I do it ?. Is there recommended steps involved.
