Battery threads?

If you're really just playing music or listening to the radio over wi-fi, your battery will last longer. However it got trickle charged while on the radio dock from 56% to 74% while playing the radio.

What about when you are reading a document or a book on your phone for an hour with brightness set to 30 or 40%? How is your battery doing? That's what I do on my phone 70% of the time, reading PDF docs files or books.

I can't say, I haven't done that much. I mostly read using my iPad 2.

Well, I was having more than acceptable battery life on my first 4s, but had to have it replaced because I decided to go for a different size. And now... 3 hours of use, 6 hours including standby and I'm down to 12%. I don't know about you, but I'm not okay with that.

Hang in there, Apples working on the next update.

I just got off the phone with Apple technical support. Those poor guys, some of those guys don't have a clue. There's no way you can use your phone lightly for two hours and be at 54%, unless you're playing hardcore games. I watched a 2 hour movie with battery life starting at 100%. After it was over the battery was at 74%.

I was reading about iOS 5.1 last night, hopefully it will put an end to the battery fluctuation.

Just got through reading an article from cnet on iOS 5.1 beta. So far it is said to have mixed reviews like iOS 5.0.1. But it is the first beta, so hopefully it will get better.

There has been two reports this weeks of iPhone 4's spontaneously combusting. One in Australia, and the other in Brazil.

I went a full day without charging! Again this doesn't usually happen.

Mines just like this lol.
I wasn't connected to WiFi at any point during this battery cycle either. Though my 3G connection was mostly excellent. :D

The number one item affecting the battery life is bad coverage areas. If you are in one of these the i4s does indeed suck more power than an Android or BB. I have confirmed this based on the two locations I visit the most.

My home has real bad coverage. Therefore when I am home I turn off the Cellular Data. When I do this I can go for the whole weekend (take phone of charge Sat morning and plug back in around 10 pm Sun).

There is simply no reason to have the Data on when I don't need it. If I want to surf or check email then I turn it on. I've done this with all my previuos smartphones and usually have very good battery life.

Go ahead and flame, but for me the most important part is the phone itself.

^ What he said. Temperature and the network coverage affects battery life. Especially coverage. 3G network takes a lot already but loss of network makes the phone keep looking for better connection.

Notice how the two places listed are really hot destinations....go figures, right?

Considering the one in Australia was inside an air-conditioned plane it really does not apply and further more millions have been sold and at the end of the day 2 issues reported is nothing of concern. All mobile devices can have same issues
