Water damaged backlight doesn't work, help!

My boyfriend rather stupidly sent his 4s for a spin the the washing machine, I have replaced the screen as it was shattered, it now works but no back light so still not really useable, any ideas? Thanks

Ouch.....maybe take it to Apple and pay for a replacement?

Yeah thanks, i could of come up with that! but no point spending money with them when there's no warranty coz it went swimming!

Its under warranty,Apple will replace it for a price,dont shoot the messenger,just giving you my advice,thats what im here for.....i doubt its fixable after a cycle in the washing machine.

It is not covered under warranty, warranty only covers manufacturing defects.

Just after a bit of technical know how on the the backlight works to see if I can get it up and running again, the phone is fully functional except the backlight, it makes call sure works you just can't see what's on the screen unless your in the perfect light

Well as i said Apple will replace it but for a price,check it out so you have all the options,as for fixing it maybe some one will have some advice for you.
