Verizon iphone 4.2.10 jailbrake?

Verizon iphone 4.2.10 jailbrake?

Who said so? 4.2.10 is jailbreakable, if you want I can post YouTube links here for you to follow the steps. But like I mentioned in my previous post, it's only a tether jailbreak. The answer is 4.2.10 is jailbreakable.

Bab, you need to check facts. The tethered 4.2.10 jailbreak does not work. As soon as a reboot is required the system crashes necessitating a restore. It becomes impossible to perform a tethered boot.
We have known this for quite some time and all the stickies and advice given on this site by the staff reflect this.
No 4.2.10 owner can reliably jailbreak their device at this time.

Review the important update in the sticky here for more info - http://www.iphoneforums.net/forum/iphone-jailbreaking-17/jailbreaking-methods-iphone-18519/

Yes can you please upload a video so we can see it

There are lots of videos which will show 4.2.10 jailbroken. That is not the problem. As soon as you install mobile substrate or anything else that requires a reboot the device will hang and a tethered boot will no longer work. A video proves nothing.

+1...

Is there an untethered version already for 4.2.10?

No. They're focusing on iOS 5. There is a tethered version though which I highly suggest not doing since it's pretty much useless. All the apps close down on you and nothing ever works. Just wait a while, maybe after sept. they'll have a perfect tether.

...Public internets.

there isn't a tethered or untethered jailbreak for 4.2.10

There actually is. It's unofficial and it barely works. It's pretty stupid and it's how I mainly messed up my phone.

Thanks for all the info guys!

Tethered seems a bit risky, I would hate to have to do this each time I reboot. I think I will wait for an untethered jailbreakable version.

If any of you find one would you kindly send me a PM or post here, thx <3

Well yes we can, but I'm almost 100% sure there will never be an untethered jailbreak for 4.2.9 or 4.2.10 due to the fact it'd be a waste of an exploit. :)!

What would you recommend then? Is iOS 5 available yet? Should I just wait for a jailbreak for iOS 5 and then upgrade and jailbreak?

TIA and thanks again for all the help even though I hijacked this topic ;)

If ios 5 was available then itunes would tell you to update to it... but we are on beta 7 and I have never seen more then 9 betas including a GM version which this is basically the final version of the firmware that 9 times out of ten is what gets released to the public.. so I would wait for the official release of ios and then X amount of time later a un tethered jailbreak
