I just got an iphone from Verizon with 4.2.10 on it and would like to jailbreak it. Can I install an earlier firmware on it and jailbreak it then?

If so can you please explain to me how to do that and what version iOS I should install?

Thanks everyone, great community!

If you dont have your shsh blobs, you cannot. To make that easy for yourself if you just got the phone with 4.2.10 or never been jailbroken, then no

If your phone is brand new and out of the box, then you can't downgrade to any lower version of iOS. If it's a second hand iPhone and the previous user had jailbreak it and save shsh of any previous version then you might be able to downgrade to a lower iOS. However, your actual iOS is tether jailbreakable which I think you do not wish to have since you will always need a computer to boot it up everytime you turn it off.

4.2.10 isn't Jailbreakable

Who said so? 4.2.10 is jailbreakable, if you want I can post YouTube links here for you to follow the steps. But like I mentioned in my previous post, it's only a tether jailbreak. The answer is 4.2.10 is jailbreakable.

Hie. I want to ask that if I jailbreak my phone, will I be able to get iOS 5???
