Unwanted Messages

HELP. I keep receiving unwanted messages (usually wake me up a few times in the middle of the night). I just received this new number a few weeks ago. I tried telling the people they have the wrong number and now they send even more. They come from numbers such as 1110440xxx with xxx being a few different numbers. They seem to talk to each other and yet, I get their messages. Help me get some sleep. Its just too painful to change number. I am an ex-fire chief and have just way too many contacts that took me weeks to update my contact info. I shudder to think I must change again.

At&t and they want $20 per month to block - since the last 3 digits seem to change once in a while. I might might be updating forever.
I guess I will turn off the sound at night and bite the bullet on charges.

There are blocking apps if you jailbreak. Many don't want to go that route, but this would sure be one reason too!
