TUAW turns the spotlight on a new freemium game from indie developer NimbleBit called Tiny Tower, which has really caught the imagination of iOS gamers everywhere, having already achieved more than a million downloads in the four days since its release. The game works along very similar lines to time-management games such as SimTower, whereby your job is to build a tower (a tiny tower, in fact!), and manage all the businesses and “bitizens” that live and work in the tower. Your overall aim is to make as much money as you can in order to build new types of floors and attract more bitizens to the tower. When you start playing the game it takes you through the very simple step by step process to start building your tower and filling it with people and businesses. You’ll be instantly hooked, I promise! It’s a really bright, fun game and the cute, pixelated characters will have you smiling from the moment your first tenant moves in and you give them a job in your first coffee bar.

TUAW reports that according to tweets from NimbleBit’s Ian Marsh, aside from the impressive figure of 1 million downloads in four days, Tiny Tower’s players are logging on lots of different times throughout the day, which speaks to the game’s addictive qualities. The game has already had a small update to correct bugs, and hopefully there’s more to come in the future from NimbleBit, who could just have the next big indie hit on their hands.

Decent game but the game play is too slow. Of course that was done to help nudge you into buying in game coins. My answer to that is "not going to happen in this life time". The most interesting thing said about the game is it is showing a 2.6% buy thru on in game coins. Which means at the lowest level, the game has already made at least $26K before Apple takes it cut.
