Have you ever stumbled while being in the vicinity of a water container when talking on your iPhone and dropped it right there in sea? Neither did we. But it does not mean it could not happen at some point. Apparently Apple might be trying to take every precaution to ensure that your iDevice will have the longest of lives possible. Why I am saying this? Well because at the CSE a branch of the popular Zagg company called HzO has showcased quite an interesting bit of technology: the “WaterBlock”. Even Samsung’s Chairman who happened to be in the neighborhood got pretty excited about the idea.

“We showed the Samsung Chairman the technology with a Samsung Galaxy S that we had coated with HzO and he couldn’t believe his eyes,” a representative of the company said in an article. “Samsung is really excited by the tech. The company went on to say that they are also talking to Apple as well, hoping to be able to let Apple make the iPhone 5 waterproof.”

How does this technology work? Well by applying it to the inner parts of any iOS device you can think of: iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone. The WaterBlock technology utilizes a non-toxic organic material that doesn’t increase the weight of the device. HzO has already filmed a video to showcase the technology. You can spot how the outwards of the iPod have been coated including the speaker.

If Apple does makes up its mind in time and decides to go ahead and use the technology, the devices will probably be treated during the manufacturing process. By the look of things the inventors of HzO are very pleased with themselves are confident that the technology will be incorporated into the next generation iPhone. Let’s wait and see.
