A day doesn’t go by in the world of technology that something brand new and exciting doesn’t pop along the way. Take the latest rumor for example. Ever been afraid of dropping your smartphone in the pool? Well you don’t have to go to the psychologist to cure that fear anymore. You just have to follow the latest trends in technology.

Earlier this month, some rumors surfaced concerning Liquipel – a new patent – which is supposedly destined to coat Apple’s iPhone and other devices in a nano waterproof coating. The coat is said to be almost invisible to the eye. Now, it seems that both the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III will benefit from the new technology. Fancy texting while taking a nice warm bath? Well from now on it will not going to be a problem.

Waterproof technology has been spotted at the CES 2012 in Las Vegas, where another firm called HzO demonstrated its WaterBlock technology. Liquiped was also present with a presentation of its own.The report comes from “well placed” sources deep within one of Britain’s top phone retailers. The same sources accurately predicted the release dates for the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, so maybe we should be should consider them as valid. The prospect is deeply enticing, we have to admit.

These coatings will sure reduce the number of people coming in to have their phone fixed due to water damage of course, but the covers are known to cause the device to warm up more than usual. Let’s just hope the high temperature won’t damage the device some how.
