Yet more supposed iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s component images have emerged today, with a picture of what are claimed to be wireless charging coils for the forthcoming OLED iPhone. Reporting on the images, which first appeared on Chinese microblogging website Weibo, via Slashleaks, BGR says that the components pictured look very similar to other parts that leaked last week. According to BGR, the parts will be situated on the back of the phones, underneath the glass case that forms part of a “sandwich” design that is held together with a metal frame. Samsung’s recent phones that have wireless charging support all have similar glass frame designs. Drop tests have found these phones to be more breakable than those with metal cases, but hopefully Apple has ensured that its new iPhones are more durable than Samsung’s range; with the most recent iPhones such as the 6s and 7 being some of the most durable smartphones ever, it would be a shame if Apple went backwards in this respect.

As far as the authenticity of the leaks is concerned, with iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s production now said to be well underway, the timing would be exactly right for components starting to leak.
