I have searched but found no answers so if this has been asked before, I apologize.

I have an i-phone 4 on version 4.2.1 and firmware 03.10.01

I am using windows 7

1. can I use sn0wbreeze 2.6.1 to jailbreak? (I understand that this is an untethered jailbreak?)
2. I am downloading iPhone3,1_4.3.2_8H7.ipsw now, do I need to update the phone to 4.3.2 first?

or can you tell me the best route to take?

If your not bothered about an unlock then just update to 4.3.2 in iTunes then use redsnow to jailbreak.

You will need the 4.3.2 ipsw file from the link below...

I would like to have the unlock, that is why I was looking at using sn0wbreeze.

No unlock for that baseband yet but no harm in preserving it anyway. Will give you more options when/if an unlock does become available...

Use pwnage tool everytime you jailbreak to preserve your baseband for future
jailbreaks.

Pwnage tool is only for mac. Snowbreeze is the windows equivalent...
