Screen positioning

I don't know what I might have done but when I turn on my books the print is horizontal and I can't change it to the vertical position. Can anyone tell me what has happened?

Double press the home bottom scroll to the right on the left is a circle with a arrow touch it, it should unlock it

I found the circle and after pressing it it says potrait orientation unlocked but my books are still locked in landscape orientation. Is there a separate way to unlock landscape mode?
Forgive me but I have trouble with all this "new" generation gagedtry. Just an old senior citizen trying to adapt.

Not sure but is it possible that books are landscape only? Good luck

No, it was available in both positions until this problem arose. I have been reading books vertically for several months.
