It's been a while since we have heard any iWatch rumors, but here's a trickle to alleviate that dry spell. Supposedly, Apple is currently testing several different sizes of flexible displays for use in the next iDevice. According to the intel, Apple plans to use the plastic flexible display tech in the iWatch, and they are trying to determine what the optimum size will be: 1.3”, 1.4” or 1.5”. According to sources, “A prototype of the 1.5-inch has already been made“.

Ultimately, this begs the question of where Apple plans to get the flex displays for this device. Currently there are only two manufacturers in the world with the capability to mass produce flexible display tech. That is Samsung and LG. Considering Apple and Samsung's rocky relationship, it's probably a safe bet that Apple could be courting LG first; however, if the iWatch turns into a hit, it is unlikely that LG would be able to produce enough flexible displays to keep up with demand. This would force them into a position in which they would have to go to Samsung for at least a portion of the manufacturing.

We will keep an eye on this intel for any further corroboration. In the meant-time, please tell us what you think of an iWatch. Is it something that intrigues you?
