before i could get an iphone on my verizon account my wife and I had blackberrys palm wich we used for years wouldn't work with a verizon/mac combo either the one thing BB did was called profile Which permitted us to set a separate sound for each email address or turn off the sound for some accounts, My wife set hers so the only thing which made sound overnight was messages to the email reserved for her answering service. Is their an app or workaround to this with an iphone 4 If not, concider something like profiles in a future OS
