Puregear shell/hoster combo for iphone 4

I bought a new case and holster for mu iphone 4. Its the pure gear. I noticed that my phone got hot and the charge only lasted about 5 hours hardly using it. It usually lasts all day. The weird thing is I had almost the same holder for my droid X and it did mthe same thing. I thought it was the phone!!! Anyone else have a problem or hear of this?

ihave my phone in a case protector all time, and it doesn't hit at all, unless i'm playing games or streaming tv while it's been charging.
