Phone Won't Power Up...HELP

Greetings...my daughter has the 4S and just called on her land line (what is that???) and her phone will not power up. She has tried holding down the power button, connecting to her Mac and no luck. Any thoughts out there I could pass on to her? Thanks in advance for any help.

I had this happen yesterday. After sending a text i put my phone in my pocket and a few minutes later grabbed it and nothing. I held the power and home button down for a few seconds and it came back. Try that.
