One more question! re: App updates

sorry for all the questions! One more...app updates.

I have an update for my weather channel app..its to update it for use with twitter. Well I dont want to do that..but I see no option to decline or delete it.
I can't get rid of the red number on the app screen...any thoughts?

The only way to hide the badge is to be jailbroken.
