New Renders Show iPhone SE 2 With an iPhone-X-Style Notch.png

It’s probably fair to say that one of the least popular aspects of the iPhone X is the notorious notch. However, if a new report from MacRumors is accurate, it may well be that the forthcoming iPhone SE 2 will also be getting its very own notch.

MacRumors has today posted renders and supposed dimensions of the forthcoming phone that it obtained from case maker Olixar, and these show that the notch will be about half as small as the iPhone X notch. This would most likely be too small to facilitate the facial recognition sensors required for Face ID, which raises the question, why add a notch if it’s not required to house the sensors? Nonetheless, there’s no doubting the presence of the notch in the alleged iPhone SE 2 renders.

The renders in question, which Olixar said came from "a reliable source" in China, also appear to show that the new phone will have an iPhone-X-style edge-to-edge display, but its overall design in terms of the body and casing is very similar to the current iPhone SE and the iPhone 5s before it.
